Veneers: They're an Easy Solution to More Smile Flaws Than You Realize

Having a smile you're ashamed of makes you want to run and hide — but you're not alone. Some studies report that more than half of Americans are in the same boat, covering their smiles and living with crushing self-esteem issues.

That's where veneers come in.

Despite what you may think, you don't have to suffer through months of braces or open wide for an oral surgeon to fix your smile. Veneers can address many common smile problems quickly and without draining your bank account.

Our team at Rifkin Dental knows how important your smile is to your self-image. So, we're proud to offer fast, effective solutions like veneers to help you smile with confidence again.

Here's everything you should know about veneers

What are veneers?

First, let’s cover the basics. Veneers are thin, porcelain shells we custom-make and bond to the front of your teeth to improve their appearance. We design them to match the color and shape of your natural teeth, giving you a flawless, cohesive smile.

Bonus: Porcelain is one of the most stain-resistant materials, so you can enjoy your new smile for the long haul.

How can veneers help me?

Veneers are great options for addressing minor smile problems, but they aren't for everyone. Significant issues with your bite and alignment require more intensive treatments, like braces.

But that doesn't mean veneers aren't versatile. We use them to address a wide range of dental issues. Here are some of the most common.

Discoloration

Striking out with whitening strips? Veneers can cover deep stains and discoloration, giving you a brighter, whiter smile.

Chipped or broken teeth

Veneers cover chips and cracks in your teeth, simultaneously improving their appearance and strengthening them.

Gaps between teeth

If you have minor gaps between your teeth, we can use veneers to fill them in and give you a more even smile.

Misaligned teeth

You don't always have to turn to braces if your teeth are out of alignment. Veneers can improve the appearance of slightly crooked teeth without the need for more aggressive orthodontic treatments.

Irregularly shaped teeth

Teeth that are smaller than your other teeth or teeth that are unusually shaped and/or have unnatural contours to them can all be made uniform again with the help of veneers.

What can I expect?

Getting veneers is a relatively simple process. First, you schedule a consultation where one of our dentists assesses your teeth to determine if veneers are a good option.

Then, you come back for another appointment to begin preparing your teeth. During that phase, we gently remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth to make room for the veneers and ensure they bond properly. Next, we take an impression of your teeth and send it to a lab to create your custom veneers.

During your final appointment, we bond the veneers to your teeth using a strong dental adhesive and curating light to secure them in place.

With proper oral hygiene care and regular dental checkups, veneers can last for years.

If veneers are right for you, they're usually the cheapest, fastest way to get a better smile.
